为加强国际贸易学科建设，拓展学术交流合作，营造良好学术氛围，国贸室与科技处联合发起了“国际农业经济与贸易讲堂”。首期“国际农业经济与贸易讲堂”于2022年5月27日正式开讲，南京农业大学经济管理学院院长朱晶教授以“中美经贸摩擦中的农产品进口与中国粮食安全”为主题做线上报告。党委书记李思经到会指导，国贸室主任陈秧分进行了总结点评，会议由李先德研究员主持。
国际农业经济学家协会（IAAE）网站消息，2021年6月8日IAAE提名委员会正式提名樊胜根、Matin Qaim为IAAE主席候选人。目前是中国农业大学演讲主席教授、全球粮食经济与政策研究院（AGFEP）院长；Matin Qim目前是德国哥廷根大学教授。选举投票将在2021年6月28日-7月25日间进行，只有2020-22阶段正式会员注册和终生荣誉会员资格投票。
